JEEP WRANGLER 2016

Call it the Tale of Two Wranglers.  Jeep Wrangler owners are all over the map and I'm not talking about off-roading adventures.  The guys and gals at Waxahachie Dodge Chrysler Jeep will inform you that many of the Wrangler's title holders don't even get the Wrangler dirty.  They just dress the jeep up will all kinds of aftermarket equipment.  Some even take the fenders off just to have the Wrangler look even more like a “Brute”.  Yes Sir, you see them driving around town with huge tires, lift kits,  chrome wheels, extra head lights, winches and much more which will dramatically and noticeably affect the Jeep Wrangler's appearance, but it will never leave a highway.  Then if there is a chance of in climate weather,   the shiny Wrangler sets in the garage under wraps.

If you own a Wrangler or Wranglers, it is a “love fest” and a strong community as you see them give the friendly wave as they pass each other on the road.  The classic look of this Jeep makes its' competitors all look the same.  As mentioned before, you can use the Wrangler just running errands, going to the golf course or make that short trip off the pavement and hit the dirt.

The Jeep Wrangler's off road capabilities go beyond its well-known 4 WD system. It has the tall ride height to keep it clear of obstacles and to make steeply angled transitions as it was designed for and used for many decades.  The Wrangler has durable axles,   tunable shock absorbers and locking differentials, just to point out a few musts you need off-road.   Jeep owners will have the choice between a manual and a smooth automatic transmission.

Visit http://www.waxahachiedodgechryslerjeep.com to schedule a visit to demonstrate the Wrangler's off-road capabilities with a test drive.  They really don't care if you desire the Wrangler for everyday driving or mudding it up in the boonies as they just want you to be happy.

The interior of the Jeep stays true to its adventurous roots with drain plugs for washing the floors and even a locking center console when you have the top down.  Yes, it can be a convertible.  Besides the very comfortable and sturdy seats, you have all the up to date technology at your fingertips.  The famous Uconnect system is there which delivers information, music, important navigation, satellite and more.  Uconnect really keeps the driver in sync with the technological pace in today's world.

In front is one of the best engines around in the form of a 3.6-liter V6 that can deliver 285 horses.  The other great item is the 260lb-ft of torque that will power the Wrangler just about around and over anything in its path.  It has the package and styling you need for off-roading or just going to your favorite restaurant with your better half.

Just ask a Wrangler owner and they will tell you that they love this machine.  Wrangler owners always come back for another one.  So what are you waiting for?  It is a deal all the way around and fun times are just ahead in this New Year in a new Jeep Wrangler.

2016 Jeep Renegade: Fun in a Box

This fun little crossover need not get overlooked or put in a box so to speak.  It is roomier than you would think by the looks and has plenty more to offer.
The cubist design helps Renegade provide a roomy interior considering its mere 166 inches of overall length. Even the back seat, whose leg room can get snug behind a tall driver, boasts arena-like headroom. There's also a useful, two-tier cargo bay that isn't pinched by swoopy metal-bending.  And that sort of daily practicality, which extends to comfortable handling around town and easy maneuverability in crowded parking lots, is important to a vehicle that carries the twin burden of competing with soft-roaders like the Mazda CX-3 and Honda HR-V while, at the same time, trying to uphold Jeep's bushwhacking reputation.

The latter is upheld primarily by the Trail hawk model, which shares Renegade billing with Sport, Latitude and Limited trims.  It offers backup camera and Renegade's four-mode -- Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud — Selec-Terrain 4WD system (Trail hawk adds a Rock mode).  The Latitude was powered by a 1.4-liter turbo four that mates exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission. That gear box was delightful to row, finding its gates effortlessly, while the 160-hp blown four felt enthusiastic under a heavy right foot thanks to 184 lb.-ft. of torque.  Limited, on the other hand, which carries about 165 pounds of additional curb weight, has a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter, 180-hp I-4 and is coupled to a  nine-speed automatic — that engine's only transmission.
Come try one for yourself and you will see how fun it is at Waxahachie Dodge Chrysler Jeep 2405 N. Interstate 35-E Waxahachie, TX or give us a call at 469-517-0043 today!

Dodge Charger stands the Test of Time

The new redesigned Dodge Charger is a runaway success as it was in the sixties.  I know that because I owned one.  It was a 1968 orange and black Charger R/T (road & track).  This model was equipped with the high performance 440 cubic inch engine, dual exhausts and even extra wide tires and some new safety features.  The wrap around "bumble bee" stripes were awesome and it had room for five adults. Dodge sold many more than they had expected, just like what is happening today.  As they say, "they flew off the shelves".

Today's Dodge Charger is even better, as they have a Charger for all different tastes in the horsepower category for the full size sedan.  This new 2015 Charger has new front and rear styling that gives it a cool sleeker   appearance.  It is a head turner just like its predecessor in the middle and late sixties.   The choices in the different Charger models will fit everyone's appetite and desires with this full sized sedan.

If you want to stick with the standard V6 equipped Charger, don't worry about the acceleration factor as it will take you past that 18 wheeler like it was standing still; it is very quick and brisk.  But what got my attention was the choice of the V8's in the other models.  The least potent engine still produced 370-hp, getting close to my old Charger's performance.  Now crank up your expectations of engine performance and look at the new Charger R//T Scat Pack. Believe me the word "Scat" means what it says and it is my choice of Chargers.  This vehicle comes with 485-hp and thanks to the new Dodge eight speed transmission it gives you 25mpg on the highway.

I also drove the Dodge Charger Hell Cat at Waxahachie Dodge Chrysler Jeep with its 707 hp  Super Charged V8.  When we took it for a test drive it was unbelievable and really is the top of the line in today's muscle cars.  Nothing around can compare with all the Hell Cat has in high performance systems.  My wife said I acted like I was a 20 year old kid in this beast!

However, I went back to my first love and settled down in the comfortable seats of the Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack.  What this car has in performance is enough for me.  The R/T delivers that quick acceleration I want combined with a family friendly interior space, rear wheel drive and the Scat Pack trim package that brings me that 6.4-liter V/8, an air intake hood, high performance brakes, unique 20-inch alloy wheels, ventilated front seats and more. We were very satisfied as was my "decision maker" wife.  She just loves its big comfortable ride, classy looks and the array of sophisticated technology on tap.  I also took her advice in getting the forward collision warning option.  I wonder what she was telling me.

2016 Jeep Wrangler: The Last of Its Kind

The era of the classic jeep we have come to know and love has been rumored to come to an end. The Jeep Wrangler that has been in production since 2006, and although this new 2016 model is quite possibly the last of the long line of Wranglers, it is certainly one of the best the US market has ever seen.

The reason why Jeep may not be producing Wranglers anymore after this model year is because the design simply with not be able to compensate for all of the regulations regarding fuel economy, safety and noise. But no need to fear, the 2016 model is out and about and is the best Wrangler you has every laid eyes on. With modifications to the color scheme, engine, and running gear, the Wrangler is new and improved and ready for you. One of the many new luxurious new features available to you is an eight speaker audio system so that you can jam out to your favorite tunes while off-roading with your favorite people. Also, there is built in Bluetooth and Line-In connectivity available at your fingertips.

This is sure to be the best Wrangler to date and though the 2018 year is rumored to bring a different name and style to what we currently known as the Wrangler, the classic will always be near and dear to our heart.

Come on in and have test drive one of our 2016 models at Waxahachie Dodge Chrysler Jeep 2405 N. Interstate 35-E Waxahachie, TX or give us a call at 469-517-0043 today!

2015 Ram 1500 is a Beauty and Beast in One

Did you ever want to look into the eyes of a beast and enjoy the experience? Well, just stand in front of the 2015 Ram 1500 at Waxahachie Dodge Chrysler Jeep!

I'm using the word “Beast” in a nice way, but this pickup has an aggressive demeanor and many owners call the Ram 1500 by similar names from the animal kingdom. Yes sir, it was named after one tough beast in 1933 and you can see the resemblance in its grill as a ram's head is out front and charging.

The Dodge guys wanted to characterize its pickup trucks as rugged vehicles and they didn't disappoint any truck buyers.  Over the years the Ram pickups changed from being a utility/work truck to a choice of   today's “soccer moms”.  Maybe because the interior is so plush and seats are so comfortable for 6 adults and/or children.  Matter of fact, Consumer Reports said in their annual car reviews, “The Ram is the most refined full-size pick-up on the market, yet it's plenty capable of “grunt work”.   Another automotive critic, US News & Reports Best Cars ranked the Ram 1500 “number one” out of six popular full-sized pickup trucks.  They said, “The 2015 Ram 1500 delivers a best in class ride, superior cabin materials, smooth transmission and class-exclusive diesel engine option, which win over auto critics with the best combination of positive reviews and long term ownership costs in its class.  The Ram 1500 is our 2015 Best full-sized pickup for the money”.

The positive reviews of the Ram didn't stop there as Consumer Guide, Kelly Blue Book and also Edmunds gave the “Beast” high marks. Sorry, I really don't mean to offend any Ram 1500 owners by using that description, but I can't help it---the Ram just oozes toughness and strength.  So, why is it that so many love this pickup? The Ram 1500 does have luxury/style with its interior and the upgraded touch screen interface is very easy to use and understand.  The seats are incredibly comfortable and the ride is smooth whether you are cruising on the highway or off-road.  You will be very impressed with how quiet it is inside the cab.  We prefer the 5.7-liter V/8 with tremendous towing power with our fifth-wheel trailer.  The V/8 is combined with a six-speed automatic transmission.  My wife calls the Ram her luxury liner and I keep calling it my beast.  Anyway, experience the 2015 Ram 1500 at Waxahachie Dodge Chrysler Jeep.  You can visit them online at http://www.waxahachiedodgechryslerjeep.com today!

Dodge Hellcat: One Heck of a Car!

As the Hellcat fired up, it sounded like thunder under my seat. We slowly drove through Main Street and I noticed many people cranking their necks to get a look at this machine. I had a "flashback" from the movie starring Burt Reynolds running whiskey through the hills. But Burt's car didn't have the Dodge Hellcat's 707 horsepower in a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi under its hood. Anyway, we went to one of the many less traveled side roads as we often did in our youth to test out the power of our cars. After a demonstration on acceleration, he pulled the Hellcat into a 7-11 parking lot and asked if I wanted to take the wheel. I was out of my door before he got his hands off the steering wheel. I was ready to take this “bad boy” for a spin or two.

Recently we were visiting my old home town and had the opportunity to visit its' Classic Car Show. It was huge with scores of antique cars, trucks and a new car exotic section. I ventured over to see some of the new muscle type automobiles. There I ran into an old buddy of mine sitting on a lawn chair next to a 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. He owned it and was showing it off to a countless number of spectators.

I was one of those admiring this fine automotive beast of a vehicle and when he recognized me, it was hugs and slaps on the back. After a quick "how've you been?" and "what's going on with you and the family", our conversation went directly to the dynamics of this machine called a Dodge Challenger Hellcat.  As I was drooling over the Hellcat, he asked if I wanted to go for a spin since the event was winding down. Heck yes!  He didn't have to ask again as I was already in the passenger's seat just like we used to do when we were kids in the 50’s.

This Hellcat was so much fun to drive and really not as scary as that first fishtail when I exited the parking lot. Its handling is firm and you feel in control. As I was driving, my friend explained the available driving modes that include Sport Track, Custom and Eco. He said he never used Eco.

That big engine can be told to produce 300hp, 500hp or 700hp; which is just too cool and exciting to share. Standard equipment comes with stability and traction control, rear stabilizer bar and many safety features like "rain brake support".  Nice to have when it rains especially with all that we have had this season.  All the Dodge Hellcat's engine performance comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission. For you "stick people", you can get that option as well. I'm told by my friend that it will go from zero to 60 in just 3.6 seconds. But you don't have to stop at 60 as the speedometer goes to 200. Not going to happen for me anymore as I have wised up in my senior years but if I was still in my 30’s I would have tested it out just to see for myself!

Don't hesitate, go down to Waxahachie Dodge Chrysler Jeep and take a test drive to get the experience of a lifetime for yourself. The interior is very comfortable and its Dodge infotainment systems are easy to operate and understand. The Hellcat is not one of those "pony cars"; it is a thoroughbred. Just to let you know Dodge is selling these awesome machines at a faster pace than they anticipated. Visit http://www.waxahachiedodgechryslerjeep.com
